In the heart of Midtown Manhattan's Restaurant Row, Jasmine Gerald, the visionary Black entrepreneur behind Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine, has unveiled her latest venture: S'Aimer. This new, Black-owned establishment seamlessly blends the rich culinary traditions of the Caribbean with the finesse of French gastronomy, offering diners a unique and sophisticated experience that’s both culturally rich and deeply rooted in Gerald’s heritage.

A Culinary Journey Rooted in Resilience

Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine, which opened during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, quickly became a beloved spot for authentic Caribbean dishes. As a Black-owned business, the restaurant's success is a testament to Gerald's dedication to celebrating New York's spirit of resilience and her passion for sharing the vibrant flavors of her heritage.

Introducing S'Aimer: Love on a Plate

Building on this foundation, Gerald, alongside co-founder Linda Salamon, introduced S'Aimer—a name that translates to "love one another." This Black-owned restaurant aims to create a platform for appreciation, education, and celebration of Caribbean heritage, while also opening the conversation on French influence in the Caribbean.

A Menu That Marries Two Worlds

S'Aimer's menu is a testament to this cultural fusion, featuring dishes that harmoniously blend Caribbean spices with French techniques. Highlights include the "Jazzy Pasta," a creamy delight infused with Caribbean flavors, and the "Escovitch Red Snapper Steak," which offers a traditional Caribbean preparation with a French twist.

An Ambiance of Elegance and Warmth

The restaurant's interior reflects its cultural roots, blending the elegance of a French bistro with vibrant Caribbean colors and patterns. Live jazz performances and curated art pieces enhance the experience, making S'Aimer not just a place to eat, but a destination to explore Black culture and the legacy of Caribbean influence.

A Commitment to Community and Black Culture

Gerald's ventures are more than just restaurants; they are community hubs that celebrate and educate patrons about Black and Caribbean culture. Through Jasmine's Restaurant Group, Gerald continues to contribute to the cultural fabric of New York City, offering spaces where food, music, and art converge.

Looking Ahead

As S'Aimer continues to make its mark on Restaurant Row, Gerald's innovative approach to blending cultures through cuisine sets a new standard for dining experiences in the city. For those seeking a meal that tells a story, celebrates Black heritage, and bridges worlds, S'Aimer promises an unforgettable journey.

Location: S'Aimer is located at 338 West 46th Street, New York, NY 10036. Reservations can be made through their website.
